I guess you could say that real estate is in my blood. When I was growing up in the suburbs of Chicago we'd constantly be moving - my mom would find a house, we'd live there for a couple years while she renovated, and as soon as the work was finished we'd list it and be onto the next project. I pretty much spent most of my childhood in a construction site!
My dad, who is an antiques dealer, also helped foster my love of homes and interiors. Through time spent in antique shops, markets, and warehouses I've developed a passion for well made things that show craftsmanship and attention to detail. To this day, my favorite properties always have some unique characteristics that set them apart.
Being a life-long Chicagoan has definitely helped me as a realtor as I've become knowledgable about a wide array of areas and neighborhoods. I grew up in Western Springs and Hinsdale, where much of my family still lives. During my years at Fenwick High School, I spent most of my days in Oak Park and River Forest and still have a close network there as well. After that I attended DePaul University and have bounced around the city living in several different neighborhoods over the years: Lincoln Park, Lakeview, River North, Ravenswood, Bucktown, Old Town, and Ukrainian Village. Chicago is famously referred to as 'the city of neighborhoods' and I've always enjoyed getting to know a new neighborhood and discovering the favorite local spots.
I currently live in the Gold Coast with my wife, Danielle and our two dogs. Our home renovation was recently featured on Architectural Digest and My Domaine.
